Woman faces 8th DUI charge

One woman in Colorado was recently accused of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The woman was charged with DUI following a traffic stop that took place on a Friday afternoon. Her recent arrest is her eighth one for charges related to drinking and driving.

Vehicular assault or homicide arrest may occur in DUI case

A truck driver was recently arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs, resulting in the death a pedestrian. The arrest occurred on a recent Saturday and involved DUI, vehicular assault and other criminal charges. When a person is accused of vehicular assault or homicide in Colorado, he or she is always presumed innocent until and unless his or her guilt is proved in criminal court.

Testing for DUID is challenging for multiple reasons

Right now, no clear way exists to tell when a motorist has too much marijuana in his or her system to drive. The limits that have been set for blood alcohol content in Colorado and other states are rather useless in determining if someone should be arrested and charged with DUID. This is because THC, which is the compound present in cannabis that alters the mind, dissolves in fat, while alcohol actually dissolves in water.
